Roger Dwight Wells was a 4th generation born to the Porterville area of California. He attended Porterville, Bakersfield, and Oildale schools. He later moved to Northern California and attended Mountain View High School. He was an Army veteran and stationed at Fort Ord, Monterey CA. After his Honorable discharge he moved to Palo Alto CA where he worked at a car dealership and the Old Barrel Liquor Store on El Camino Real. While working at the Old Barrel he learned about the Wine business. He met the love of his life Marge Merritt and they were married a short 3 months later in Carmel California. They settled in Mountain View CA, then Santa Clara CA. Roger continued in the wine sales business working for Joesph George Distributors in Santa Clara. After relocating to Orangevale CA Roger continued to work for several distributors including Lovatti Brothers and Southern Wine Spirits. . His Father was Dwight Wells of Porterville CA and his mother was Iva Wells, Coats. Adams. Had a sister, Leonaine. He also had a half sister named Vicki Coats who is deceased.
