Sarah Beriah Fiske Allen Ricks was born in New York, and at the age of 18 became the wife of Ezra H. Allen. Not long after their marriage, they joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and moved to Nauvoo. In 1846 Ezra was one of the young men called to enlist in the Mormon Battalion and was killed, presumably by Indians, in the California mountains while on his return to Utah. Later, Sarah became the wife of Joel Ricks and together they pioneered in Cache Valley.
From Ancestral File (TM), data as of 2 January 1996.
