J. B. Perkins, 86, of Spring Hill passed away Sunday, May 13, 2001 in Mexia.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wade Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Spring Hill Cemetery near Dawson with the Rev. Mark Flurry officiating.

Mr. Perkins was born Dec. 23, 1914 in Irene. He had been a resident of the Spring Hill and Dawson area since 1929. He was a farmer who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a longtime fiddler. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife, Yvonne Perkins of Spring Hill; sons, Leslie Eugene Perkins of Southerland Springs, A. B. Perkins of West Salem, Wis. and Larry Eugene Perkins of Grand Bay, Ala.; daughters, Allene Warden of Baird, Alice Baker of Hutchins, Sue Franovich of Buras, La., Jeanie Cotnam of Hot Springs, Ark. and Linda Berry of Terrell; brothers, Leonard Perkins of Purdon, George Perkins of Hillsboro, Gerald Perkins of Killeen, Lonnie Perkins of DeSoto and Olin Jack Perkins of Hubbard; sisters, Gail Christie of Retreat, Louise Pohl, of Corsicana and Martha Jo Donaldson of Waxahachie; 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
