Donna Verlene Garvis Wagner

Donna Verlene Garvis Wagner, 84, of Queen Creek, Arizona passed away on Feb. 6, 2024, from complications of pneumonia. She was born in Visalia, California on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1939, to June and Don Thomas. She attended Mt. Whitney High School and San Jose Bible College.


Verlene married Darrel "Corky" Garvis in 1959, and together they had three children, Donette, Darren and Derek. Following Corky's passing, Verlene was blessed to find love again and was married to Norman R. Wagner of Livermore, California.


Verlene fervently loved the Lord and loved music. She loved to sing and learned to play the piano at an early age. She loved to sing in her church choir, as well as playing the piano for church services.


Verlene is survived by her daughter Donette Pelitera and her husband Perry, her son Darren Garvis and his wife Sabrina, as well as her beautiful grandchildren. Verlene is also survived by her two sisters Lorna Gay Foster and her husband John, Cheryl Maloney and her husband Tom, her brother Don Thomas and his wife, Kathy. She is also survived by her precious nieces and nephews whom she loved so very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Derek, her first husband Corky Garvis, as well as her second husband Norman Wagner.


Graveside memorial services will be held in Paradise Cemetery on March 4, 2024, at 11 a.m.
