Mr. Hodges was born in Mecklenburg Co., to the late Claude and Mary Stegall Hodges. He was a member of Spray Baptist Church and was retired from John Smith Inc.
Surviving are wife Kathleen "Cat" Spangler Hodges of the home; daughters, Cathy Davis of Eden and Susan Franklin of Smyrna, Tenn.; son Wayne Hodges Jr., of Danbury; brothers, Charles Hodges of Louisiana, Otha Hodges of Reidsville and Gordon Hodges of Reidsville; sisters, Barbara Tate of Eden and Helen Keller of Louisiana; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
