There were four deaths in Woodville last week, In addition to Mrs Helen Drager and little Raymond Hatwell, two old residents passed away. One was Mr John Curry of Gorge road, aged 80. The deceased gentleman has been fifty-three years in the colony, having first settled at Akaroa in the year 1863. Fifteen years ago he went to Woodville, where he led a useful though retired life into ripe old age. He leaves a widow and family of nine - five sons and four daughter, Messrs James and Samuel Curry settled at Akaroa, John, a resident of Feilding and Messrs William and Edward at Woodville. His daughters are Mrs Weir of Akaroa, Mrs Gungall of Hawera, Mrs Alex Crawford of Kohinui and Mrs Dill of Otakeho, Taranaki. Mr Seth Blanchard, aged 64, a pioneer resident, died on Wednesday. He had farmed in the vicinity of Upper Pinfold road for thirty years and had been connected since its establishment with the Woodville Methodist Church. He leaves a widow and a family of five - two sons, Messrs Walter and Arthur Blanchard, who are farming in Taranaki and three daughters at home.
