At his house on Pinfold Road, after a long and painful illness borne with Christian fortitude, Mr Seth Blanchard an old and respected pioneer resident of the district, passed away on Wednesday morning past. Mr Blanchard has farmed in the vicinity of Upper Pinfold Road for thirty years and had been connected since its establishment with the Woodville Methodist Church. He leaves a widow and a family of five — two sons, Messrs Walter and Arthur Blanchard, who are farming in Taranaki, and three daughters at home. Mr Blanchard's death was not unexpected but he leaves a blank in a large circle of friends and relatives.
