OBITUARY OF WM. DENNIS

Simeon William Dennis, son of George and Phoebe Dennis, was born in New York state, May 11, 1840, and passed away January 9, 1929, at the home of his son George, in Fontanelle, at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 29 days.

He was married May 17, 1866, to Adaline M. Knowles, who died January 27, 1879. To this union were born four children: George, of Fontanelle; Mrs. Anna Betts, Omaha, Mrs. Zillah Vandiver, Loveland, Colorado. One daughter: died in infancy.

He was married again on March 1, 1881, to Sarah Ann Middaugh, who died June 16, 1894. To this union were born two children: a son Charles and a daughter Belva, who died in 1893, when ten years old.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at the George Dennis home Thursday afternoon, January 10, at 1 o'clock and was conducted by the Rev. John C. Turner, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was in the Fontanelle cemetery.
