Aaron Starnes was born Aug. 6, 1844 in Howard County, Mo., died April 19, 1920, at his home in Wheaton, Mo., age 85 years 8 months and 15 days.

Mr. Starnes joined the Union Army Aug. 15, 1862 and was honorably discharged from same July 5, 1865. Was married to Martha Highbarger Nov. 27, 1869, to this union were born eleven children, six of which survive him, they are William Starnes of Wheaton Mo., Iva McKee of Newtonia, Mo., Malissa Clemmens of Granby, Mo., James Starnes of Sapulpa, Okla., Myrtle P??lor (unreadable) of Broken Bow, Neb. And Deama Starnes of Niangua, Mo.

In September 1896 his wife was taken away. In December 1898 he married Mary Highbarger, who was also taken away February 9th, 1917. On August 1918 he was married to Mrs. Sarah Wilcox, who still survives.

At about the age of twenty five he united with the Christian Church and continued in the faith through life.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, April 20, by J. S. McQueen after which the remains were laid to rest in the Muncie Chapel Cemetery.
