Joe Stewart

Services for Joe G. Stewart, 66, of Kennard, who died Friday December 20, 1985, were Monday, December 23, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kennard, Nebraska. Rev. Debra Tompsett officiated and burial was in the Kennard Cemetery.

Stewart was born on March 11, 1919, the son of Jay and Nellie Wilderson Stewart. He attended the March, Lincoln and Kennard Schools. He was united in marriage to Ruth Jane Rosenbaum on March 11, 1941. After serving in the Army, Stewart farmed and then worked for over twenty years at Snowco retiring in 1983. The Stewarts had spent the last three summers as park attendants at a campground near Warsaw, Missouri.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Kennard Fire Department, Kennard Legion Post No. 366, and 40 and 8 Voiture 1018.

Survivors include his wife Jane of Kennard, son and daughter-in-law Joe and Nina of Blair; 3 daughters and sons-in-law Rita and Merle Halligan of North Platte, Lynn and Vernon Wulf and Julie and Mark Kuhr all of Blair: sisters, Mrs. Neal (Audrey) Andreasen of Blair and Mrs. Lloyd (Jean) McCann of Omaha; brothers George of Blair, and Bruce of Bloomington; and twelve grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Brent, Blake and Blaine Stewart, Brian and David Christiansen, Jack Stewart, Roger Andreasen, Bill Rosenbaum and Scott Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers were Ray Bena, Boyd Lambert, Harlo Wilcox, Fred Brunk and Norman Misfeldt.

Campbell Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
