Sarah was the daughter of Nathan Moses Pilkington, Jr. and Harriett Melitha Stephenson.

She married Alford Washington Crisp on 08 Mar 1888 in Graham County. Their marriage was performed by: M.A. Crisp, Baptist Minister, at the home of Nathan M. Pilkington, father of the bride. J.R. Marcus, J.H. Cook and J.R. Crisp, witnesses.

Sarah would die at Plainview Hospital & Clinic as the result of heart failure.
