Robert Edward Franklin Crisp was born on 8 July 1914 in Thalia, Texas, the youngest child of Alfred Washington Crisp (1851-1940) and Sarah Jane Pilkington Crisp (1870-1954). He was raised in rural Foard County, Texas. He worked as a farmer, and later as a highway equipment operator. Sadly, he died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle while working on the highway outside Flagstaff, AZ on 8 August 1969 at the age of 55. He was interred at Wilbarger Memorial Park.
