PERRINE, WILLIAM. b. November 20, 1753, in Middlesex County, New Jersey, d. December 17, 1838, in Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania. He served at various times in the New Jersey militia from February, 1775, to 1781 as both a private and sergeant, under Captains Platt, Perrine, Longstreet, and Colonels John Duychinck, Jacob Hyer, William Scudder, and Nixon. Total service was about two and one-half years. After the Revolution, he removed to Westmoreland County, Pa., where he lived a few years, and then removed to Mercer County, Pa., in 1797. William Perrine married Ann Vance on April 13, 1778; and they became the parents of twelve children: Daniel, b. January 5, 1778; William, b. February 19, 1780; Mary, b. April 20,1782; Ann, b. September 12, 1784; John, b. May 8, 1787; Elizabeth, b. October 14, 1789; Enoch. b. February 16, 1792; Rebeckah, b. May 8, 1794; Hannah, b. September, 1796; Tarressa, b. January 7, 1798; Sarah, b. August 9, 1801; Melkah, b. September 14, 1804. He applied for a pension on October 1, 1833, pension no. W-3859. Burial site is unknown. Ref. N.S.D.A.R., Fed. Pen. File.
