She was an avid historian, writer and hunter of relics and antiques. Both sides of her family, the Selfs and the Piggs, were pioneer settlers in the Thalia community. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son, Duane Capps of Vernon, Texas and 2 grandchildren, Harletta Carthel of Friona, Texas and Marshall Capps of Lockett, Texas. She had 5 siblings, Clyde, Grace, Isabel, Roy and Gordon.
