Robert Carlton Ober, age 82, of Albion, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 12:30 pm at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

Mr. Ober was born in Garrett, Indiana on February 9, 1927 and was the son of Manford and Valera "Belle" (Lung) Ober, both deceased. He worked for Forker Excavating most of his life and retired from there after 32 years of service. He also worked for the Noble County Highway Department.

On December 11, 1954 he married Virginia Scheurich, she preceded him in death on December 11, 2007. He enjoyed fishing and spending his time with his beloved grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter, Melinda Ober of Albion, two grandchildren, Melissa and her husband Shawn Jordan of Albion, and Lance Conrad of Albion. Two step great grandchildren, Dawson Conrad and Kaleb Jordan. Brothers, Harold Lee (Roberta)Ober; Larry (Judy) Ober all of Albion. Sister, Kathleen (John) Wittkamper of Knightstown and a sister n law Margaret Ober of Kendallville.

Also preceeding him in death by his parents, a daughter, Lisa Ann Ober, a grandson, Chad Robert Conrad, and a brother Jerry Ober.

Funeral services for Mr. Ober will be Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM Brazzell Funeral Home, Albion Chapel. Rev. Dr. Dan Barker will officiate. Calling will be from 4-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Burial folowing the funeral service will be at Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery in Merriam. Casketbearers will be Mark Ober, Mike Ober, Ross Gaff, Jeff Boyer, Joel Kaiser, and Jim Brown. Honorable casketbearers will be Lance Conrad and Shawn Jordan.
