Nathaniel Reeder was born in South Carolina in 1821*

On 22 Dec 1857 he married Isabella Jane Liddell (b. 2 May 1831 in Gwinnett County, GA to Daniel Wilson Liddell and Isabella Jane Liddell)

They had three children Aldora (b 1852) Daniel (b 1854) and Isabella (b 1858)

On August 11, 1861, Nathaniel Reeder enlisted as a private into the 16th Regt Georgia Volunteer Infantry Company H "Flint Hill Greys" at Flint Hill, Gwinnett County, GA.

Elected Captain September 24,1861 at Camp Bryan, Richmond Va.

He was mortally wounded on Sept 14, 1862 at the Battle of Cramptons Gap, South Mountain, MD and died on Sept 24 or 25, 1862 in a Union Hospital at Burkittsville, MD.

Appears on a list of wounded prisoners paroled after the Battle of Crampton's Pass, Sept 14, 1862 by order of Major General Franklin
