He resided and attended school in Traverse City until 1939 when he moved to his farm on Elk Lake Road.
Wesley spent two years in the Navy during WWII and returned to the farm in the spring of 1946. On August 5, 1967 he married Henriette "Yetty" Sandtman of the Netherlands, who he dearly loved.
He worked part time as a clerk at the local Post Office for 27 years, as well as raising fruit, retiring in 1990.
He and Yetty enjoyed traveling, which they did quite often. Following retirement, the couple moved to Hammond Place.
He attended Williamsburg Methodist Church for over 60 years.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest beside his beloved in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Elk Rapids.
A special thanks to the folks at Orchard Creek and Hospice of Michigan, as well as dear friend Tracey Sivek for looking after him with love and care.
