She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Kelly Husbands Eldredge. She is survived by her four children: Tim Eldredge, Kris Kairis Brown, Kathryn Eldredge and Diane Gomes and by her ten grandchildren; Julie Carter, David Kairis, Sonja Kairis, Amy Henry, Elaine Eldredge, Rebecca Eldredge, Casey Eldredge, Amanda Gomes, Molly Gomes and Dylan Fitzwater.
Phyllis was raised in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated from Pocatello High School. She served on a mission in New Mexico. During the war, she moved to Berkeley, CA and worked as a secretary for the Manhattan Project. After the war, she returned to Salt Lake City and worked for the IRS. There, she married Kelly Eldredge in 1954. Phyllis instantly became a mother to Kelly's children, Tim and Kris. The family moved in 1956 to Sacramento, California, as Kelly took a position at California State University. Phyllis was a devoted mother, homemaker and loving grandmother. She worked as a secretary for California State University and later for the California State Adult Education Association. Phyllis loved to sing in a trio with her good friends.
A Graveside Service is planned for May 10th at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City.
