Bob graduated from Central High School in 1946. He played on the basketball team all four years of high school and also played on the Indiana All-Star Team during his senior year. He then went on to Evansville College, where he continued to play basketball for four more years. In 1971, Bob was honored to the Silver Anniversary Team. Bob had previously worked for Dale Sales Company and Cooke Chevrolet as a salesman. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Kim Wanninger of Haubstadt, Ind.; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Terri Kohlmeyer of Evansville; grandchildren, Ashley, Laura and Andy Kohlmeyer and Katy and Kyle Wanninger.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ellen (Crowe) and Porter Kohlmeyer, his wife, Doris Jean (O'Loughlin) on December 25, 1957, and a brother, Jack Kohlmeyer in 1999.
Funeral services are planned for Thursday, January 3, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., with the Rev. Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will be held in Locust Hill Cemetery.
