Funeral Services for Bennie Geving, 90, of Plevna, MT. will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at the American Lutheran Church in Baker with Pastor Bruce Kolasch officiating. Burial will follow in the Bonnievale Cemetery in Baker.
Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, continuing from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Baker.
Bennie passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker.
Bennie was born June 19, 1914 on the family ranch north of Plevna, MT., the youngest son of Andrew and Bessie Geving's nine children. He attended the Clark Country School. After graduation, he continued to stay at home where he worked and helped out. In the summer of 1937, Bennie moved to California to be with his sister. While there he worked in a Redwood Sawmill near Crescent City, California. He returned in the spring of 1938 and took over the home place. Bennie was married to Floraine Wilson of Ismay, MT. They were wed April 17, 1939 at Miles City, MY. Bennie and Floraine continued to live on the farm, north of Plevna until the time of his death. Bennie served a number of years on the Clark School Board, served ten years on the Farmers Elevator and Farmers Union Oil Company boards, spent thirty-six years on the Southeast Electric Co-op Board and served on several other committees. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in baker.
Survivors include his wife, Florantine of Plevna and a son, Roger of Plevna. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Craig on September 8, 1967; four brothers; Sam, Ivor, Albert and William Geving and four sisters, Mabel, Emma, Gertrude and Mary Hosman.
