Audrey Legg KERRY August 21, 1907 - March 11, 2005 Predeceased by her husband of 70 years: Albert S. Kerry, Jr. and their daughters: Joan and Anne. Mrs. Kerry is survived by one daughter: Katharine with her husband: Jonathan Crossley, grandchildren: Alex McKallor, Katharine McK. Wicks RN, Caroline McKallor Dahl, and Mark McKallor, along with their spouses, all of the Seattle metropolitan area. Also surviving are the children of Mrs. Kerry's daughter Anne with their spouses: Bruce Kerry Rowe, Esq., of Renton, Andrew Gordon Rowe of Portland, OR and Julie Rowe Roig of Ponce, Puerto Rico. Fourteen great grandchildren also survive. Audrey Kerry was born to Seattle pioneers: Louis Henry Legg and Helen Jenner Legg. Her father practiced law with her grandfather: Charles Kirkham Jenner, who with his wife: Cornelia Comstock Jenner, sailed from San Francisco to Seattle in 1876. Mrs. Kerry was graduated from Lincoln High School, attended the UW and received an honorary doctorate of letters from Cornish College. Past president of a number of organizations, including the Music and Art Foundation, the Sunset Club, and the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in Washington, Audrey served on numerous other boards and was a member of the Committee of 33. She served on St. Marks Cathedral's alter guild, served as a Greylady during WW2 and also as Scout leader. A tireless contributor to the community, she and her husband were honored with the 1997 Corporate Council for the Arts Award for lifetime dedication to the arts. Seven years as a bride and mother in England (while Albert studied and was employed in investments), the summers at their family beach house in Normandy Park, extensive travel with the Seattle Art Museum were treasured times for her. Her family will remember her not only for her exemplary life, but also for her sweet grace in the trials of her final years. She was much loved and will live on in many hearts. A Memorial Service will occur at St. Mark's Thomsen Chapel, 1245 10th Ave, Seattle at 4 p.m. Friday, March 18th. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
