Martin F. Pionke, Sr., 75, Plainfield, died at his home at 5:05 p.m. Saturday after a year's illness. His funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Plainfield, with the Rev. John Schmitt officiating. The body is at the Goult-Patterson-Hardell Funeral home, Plainfield, where the rosary will be said at 8 o'clock tonight.
Mr. Pionke, born in Poland on July 9, 1885, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Pionke. When he was six months old, he came to the United States with his parents, who settled at Spiritland in the Town of Almond. On June 9, 1914, Mr. Pionke was married to Elizabeth Ross, who died March 25, 1919. He married Laura Golla on Jan. 6, 1920 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainfield.
Mr. Pionke farmed for many years in the Town of Deerfield (Washara County), retiring eight years ago and moving to Plainfield.
He is survived by his wife; three children by his first marriage, Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Parson, Fond du Lac; Lucille, Montello; and Lawrence, Berlin; six children by his second marriage, Martin, Jr., Route 1, Hancock; Mrs. Marlin (Eunice) Wilcox, Plainfield; Mrs. John (Caroline) Prusinskie, Milwaukee; Mrs. Aldon (Bernice) Rauch, Campbellsport; Mrs. Edward (Dolores) Jazdzewski; Fond du Lac; and Miss Violet, at home: 13 grandchildren; a brother, Joe Pionke, Marshfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Meyers, Mrs. Hugh Dougherty and Mrs. Rhine Everett, Plainfield. A sister preceded him in death.
