Eva "Shirley" Foote Hadlcock Cook
1936 - 2024
Eva Shirley Cook, 87, of Orem, Utah, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. She was born March 22, 1936, in Manti, Utah, to Cyril Warren Foote and Margaret Brox Foote. As a young girl, Shirley loved spending summers in Manti with her grandma, Lala, who loved her dearly.
She married Donald Curtis Hadlock in 1953. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1963. Shirley later married Richard A. Cook on September 22, 1968. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2022.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shirley served as a counselor in the Relief Society presidency. She took out her endowments later in life and served diligently until she was unable to attend. Shirley worked at a dentist's office for both Dr. Brimhall Sr. and Jr., before retiring. She enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, collecting antiques, growing flowers, bowling, going to the beach, watching game shows, and spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her two children: Debby (Brent) Poulson, of Bluffdale, Utah; Dawn (Rodney) Prestwich, of Santaquin, Utah; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Audrey (Dick) Gum, Carma (Robert) Johnson, Gary (Cindy) Foote, Carol (JD) Hellewell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and Baby Hadlock.
