A Memorial service will follow the visitation at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church. Pastor Paul Reese will officiate. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, MO.

Michaela was born December 19, 1967, in Hannibal, MO to Patrick and Joneta Gash Horman.

Survivors include her father, Patrick Horman (Cindy) of Florida, sons Michael Meyer (Kelsey Jones) of Iowa, Brandon Tulenchik of Minnesota, and Ryan Nick of Minnesota; sisters Jody Nelson (David) of Arizona, Jessica Horman (Eric Serum) of Minnesota and granddaughter Addison Meyer; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Michaela was preceded in death by her grandparents Joe and Lora Lee Gash, and Woodrus and Opal Horman, mother Joneta Gash, sister Terry Ament, brother in-law Keith Ament and nephew Steven Nelson.

Michaela graduated with honors from the Le' Cordon Bleu Culinary program at Brown University in the spring of 2003, going on to have a distinguished career as a Garde Manger Chef, known regionally for her artistic edible display work. Michaela was an outdoorsy kind of gal, she relished time spent outdoors fishing in local lakes and rivers, relishing the quiet solitude of a river bank while awaiting her "catch of the day" to showcase her skills in the kitchen.

She adored arts and crafts, decorating her home, and she was always determined to find the best "deal" possible wherever she went. She loved time spent with her sons, granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She understood life was not always easy, so she strove to live in the moment daily, laughing and joking around with the aim of making others smile.
