American abolitionist printer, publisher, and bookseller in Boston, Massachusetts. He is remembered primarily for his collaboration with William Lloyd Garrison in printing and publishing The Liberator newspaper.


Isaac Knapp, one of the proprietors and editors of the Liberator. The first anti-slavery journal.  The Liberator was established by Messrs. Garrison and Knapp, Jan. 1, 1831.


On Dec. 26, 1831, Wilson Lumpkin, Governor of Georgia, in accordance with a resolve of the senate of Nov. 30th, offered a reward of Five thousand dollars. In favor of any person, or persons, who shall have arrested and brought to trial, and prosecuted to conviction under the laws of this State, the editor or publisher of the Liberator


On 20 Feb 1837 he married Adeline Brewer Thayer she died in 1842


Isaac Knapp died of consumption and was buried on 15 Sep 1843

His parents were Isaac Coombs Knapp and Abigail Remick of Newburyport, Massachusetts
