Drusilla Belle Adams was born in 1929 to Noah Walter Adams & Pearl Belle Parsons Adams. Their home was in the Moravian Falls Township of Wilkes County, North Carolina according to the 1930 Census. The same census indicates that Noah was involved in the sawmill industry. Pearl was a homemaker.

Not sure how it started, but Drusilla got involved with the county/blue grass music industry. Which, in the 1930s, 1940s and early 1950s was prevalent in the mountains of western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee, southern West Virginia and southwest Virginia.

She was not a performer but a song writer. She wrote or co-wrote a plethora of songs.

This list is not all inclusive, but her songs include...

A Sweeter Love Than Your's I'll Never Know, An Angel with Blue Eyes, Darling Brown Eyes, I Know My Name Will Be Called Up There, Someone Else Is Loving You, Way Down in Old Caroline, When Jesus Calls You Home, You're Still the Rose of My Heart and There Will Be No Wedding Bells for Me.

She was married on Sunday, 16 November 1958 in Gaffney, Cherokee County, South Carolina. After her marriage, she and her husband moved to Chicago, Illinois for a couple years. Eventually, they settled in her husband's hometown of Valdese, North Carolina until her divorce on Monday 6 August 1984.

Shortly after her divorce, she moved to eastern Tennesse and lived out her life near her one and only child, a son.
