Doris "Elaine" Hubby (Hinman) went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa at the age of 93.
Elaine is survived by her daughter Deb Runge (Mike) of Boone, Iowa, her daughter Nancy VanCannon (Ron) of Boone, Iowa, her daughter-in-law Trish Hubby and her daughter-in-law Peggy Williams. Her grandchildren include Brenda Charlet (Pat) of Boone, Iowa, Jonan Sweeney (Jeff) of Boone, Iowa, Dennis VanCannon (Becky) of Forest Grove, Oregon, Jamie Cunningham formerly of Boone, Iowa, Jennifer Cunningham of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Barry Williams of Boone, Iowa, Thomas Shaw of Boone, Iowa, Melissa Shafer of Boone, Iowa, Tyler VanCannon (Amber) of Boone, Iowa, Alicia Mayse (John) of Ogden, Iowa, Charles Miller Jr of Boone, Iowa and Ashley Palmer (Anthony) of Gladstone, MO. She had 50 great-grandchildren/step-grandchildren, and 46 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Emma Hinman, father Clarence Hinman, her husband Merle Hubby, her daughter Vicki Miller (Charles), her son Kent Hubby, her son Danny Williams and her grandson John Lampe-Cunningham.
Elaine was born on February 12, 1930 in Ogden, Iowa. She married early in life and later married Merle Bernard Hubby in 1952, in Missouri and lived in Boone, Iowa. She worked at the Woodward State Hospital for 11 years and was a caretaker for the sick and elderly. Elaine loved interior design, was as an outstanding cook and baker, and she loved antique shopping. She enjoyed animals and had numerous pets over the years. Elaine was a woman of poise and a loving and giving Christian. She was Baptized in the First Baptist Church of Boone and was an active member for many years and collected clothing for the needy.
Funeral services will be for immediate family only as per Elaine's wishes. She will be laid to rest next her husband at the Fairview Cemetery in Madrid. Cards and flowers can be directed to Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, 1006 6th Street, Boone, Iowa.
