Paul Robinson Sr. was the son of Silas Robinson (1746-1828) and Susannah Weeks (1749-1824), the grandson of Capt. Samuel Robinson (1705-1767), founder of Bennington. Paul was married to Anna Safford, daughter of Gen. Samuel Safford (1737-1813). Paul was a surveyor and purchased land in Swanton in June of 1799 and moved his family there later that year. Paul and Anna had 11 children. This Robinson family is believed to be buried at Woods Hill because close kin were buried there.
