He was the son of Paul Robinson (1768-1824) and Anna Safford (1771-1847). He was the great-grandson of Captain Samuel Robinson, founder of Bennington. Anna Safford was the daughter of Gen. Samuel Safford (1737-1813) of Bennington. Harry married in 1828, Maria Skeels (1805-93), of Highgate, VT. He was a farmer, they had 4 children, who were all born in Swanton. He died of congestive heart failure at the start of the Civil War in 1861 and Maria remarried in 1865, after Harry's death, to Mr. John Fish (1794-1870) of Sheldon, VT and after Mr. Fish's death she moved west to Beloit, WI to live with her sons, Henry and Paul.
