Kay Marsh, 76, of Ames, formerly of Union, Iowa, died on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Bickford Cottage in Ames, Iowa.

Kamella Kay (Shoen) Marsh was born on October 21,1947, the daughter of Harold and Della (Dalin) Shoen in Ames, Iowa.

She attended the Ames School System, graduating from Ames High School in 1967, and graduated from Bernell's Beauty School and worked in cosmetology for a few years. She worked in nursing homes for most of her working life taking care of the elderly.

Kay was overcome by the ravages of Alzheimer's Disease. She was cared for at home and then was in residence at Bickford of Ames under the care of Gentiva Hospice when she passed away.

Kay was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her favorite thing was spending time with family and friends. She was a little different in that she actually enjoyed keeping her house clean.

Kay is survived by her husband, Howard "Howie" of Ames; son Brian Marsh of Ames; daughter Lori Stratton (Scott) of Ankeny; brother Ernie Shoen (Judy) of Cambridge; grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation and funeral services at the Honey Creek New Providence Friends Church in New Providence, Iowa. Burial in the Honey Creek Cemetery.
