AGE 90 YEARS

Julia Burns Willson, of Peabody, formerly of Bristol, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, in Danvers, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of the late James Burns, Sr., with whom she shared 28 years of marriage, until his passing in 1982, and her second husband, the late Robert Willson, with whom she shared 26 years of marriage, until his passing in 2019. She was the cherished daughter of the late Elliot and Julia (Pitner) Cook.

A graduate of Nashua High School, class of 1950 and received a bachelor's degree from Wheaton College. Julia enjoyed a 35-year career as a first grade teacher at the West Memorial Elementary School in Peabody. She was a member and Past President of the West Peabody Garden Club. She was a longtime dedicated volunteer with the Friends of the Minot Sleeper Library in Bristol, NH, and a parishioner of Bristol United Church of Christ.

Julia is survived by her 3 sons, Peter Burns and his wife Leslie of Boulder, CO, James Burns, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Ipswich, and Jonathan Burns and his wife Tracy of Peabody. Also survived by her 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., PEABODY, on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10AM to 12PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12PM in the funeral home. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
