Annett Henry Tatum, a resident of Gainesville TX was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Annett was born June 7, 1939 in Cooke County, TX. She was the very beloved and only child of Willard and Burney Henry.

Annett attended school in Gainesville and graduated in 1957 from Gainesville High School. She married Jack Tatum, also a graduate of Gainesville High School on July 12, 1959. They had 54 beautiful years together before he passed on February 12, 2014. Besides being active in church and community activities, they both enjoyed sports very much. They always looked forward to attending the Big Twelve Baseball Tournament in Oklahoma City. After several moves during their marriage, Jack and Annett moved to Corsicana in 1985. They were faithful, active members at North Beaton Church of Christ.

After Jack's death, Annett and Burney made the decision to return to Gainesville where both their husbands were buried in Fairview Cemetery. They bought a house but unbeknownst to them, their house was across the street from their cousin Toni and her husband Kenneth. This was a true blessing from God and as years went by, their bond grew even stronger. God is good.

Annett and Burney immediately started attending Hillcrest Church of Christ and were welcomed with loving arms. Many past friendships were renewed and many new friendships were formed. Burney passed November 20, 2021. Annett continued her faithful walk with the Lord. She was a loving caretaker, an encourager, a guardian of the scripture, a good friend to all and an inspiration to her family all her life. She continued her interest in sports and also enjoyed walking, working in her yard and especially tending her flowers. She was a very special lady.

She is survived by cousins Toni Morris (Kenneth), Saundra Westfall (Jim), Billie Miller (Dave), Brent Magers (Jennifer), Harold Magers (Barbara), Mary Lou Leftwich (Johnny), Wayne Neu (Bertie), Kenneth Edington, Lisa Morris and other beloved relatives and friends.

As you can see, Annett and Jack were not blessed with children but her family believes Proverbs 31:28a "Her (family) arise and call her blessed" and 30b "a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised" applies to our sweet Annett.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Hillcrest Church of Christ, Gainesville. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted with Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. Donations in her memory may be made to: Hillcrest Church of Christ, 1712 O'Neal St. Gainesville Tx 76240 or North Beaton Church of Christ, 2725 N. Beaton St, Corsicana, TX 75110.
