Katherine Friberg, 83, of Westminister
WESTMINISTER- Katherine J. Friberg, 83, of 162 North Common Road, died in her home Tuesday.
She was born Aug. 29, 1905, in Merikarvia, Finland, daughter of John A. Friberg and Wilhelmiina (Maki) Friberg. She came to live in the United States in 1906 and lived in Westminster and Watertown before moving to New Rochelle, NY in 1923.
She was an auditor for Consolidated Edison in New York for 42 years before retiring in 1923.
She was a 1923 graduate of Watertown High School and one of the founders and past presidents of Friends of Forbush Library in Westminster. In New Rochelle, she was a member of the Community Church of New York City.
She leaves four brothers, Eino Friberg of Cambridge, Frank Friberg and Arthur Friberg, both of Westminster, and Viljo Friberg of Gardner; a sister, Edith Rudziak of Westminster; and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation in Rural Crematory in Worcester, services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Friends of the Forbush Library, Westminister, MA, 01473.
