Roy Joe Reed, 80, of Tishomingo, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Oklahoma Veterans Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Roy was born on April 10, 1943 in Plano, Texas to Joseph Oscar and Beulah Ellen (Robinson) Reed. He was born and raised in Plano and was an auto mechanic. Roy proudly served in the United States Army. After retirement as an auto mechanic, he built a home in Tishomingo where he moved and spent the remainder of his life until his passing. Win, lose or draw Roy loved the Dallas Cowboys, his brothers would always call during the games to gripe about a call or to cheer with each other. He enjoyed drinking coffee at the Dairy Queen with friends and eating lunch at the senior citizens center every day. Roy loved to work in the garden, and mow; he mowed many yards around Tishomingo for people. He found no greater joy than watching his great grandchildren in all their games; no matter what sport or the distance of the game he was always present for them as well as the neighborhood kids. Most people knew him as a big talker, he never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and would help anyone any chance he could.

Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his children, Delannia Cleveland and husband Bobby of Valliant, Oklahoma, Virginia Reed and husband David McDonald of Tishomingo, OK, Jerri Watkins of Hugo; grandchildren, Stormi Debo and husband Brandon of Soper, OK, Joseph Reed and wife Kaitlyn of Hugo, Paige Reed of Hugo, Cadyn Watkins of Tishomingo, Chase Watkins of Tishomingo, Chelsey Watkins of Durant, Kyle, Joerdan, Sara, and Bailey Cleveland; great grandchildren, Spencer and Bristol Debo of Soper, Joey Reed of Hugo, Tristyn Burt of Hugo, Lakelynn Reed of Hugo, Alyhra Cleveland of Ardmore, Shaylea Cleveland of Collinsville, Texas, Ahrora Cleveland of Collinsville, Kylie Cleveland of Collinsville, Kyle Jr. Cleveland of Collinsville, Araya Cleveland of Durant; brothers Charles Reed and wife Sharon of Waco, TX, Jerry Reed of Abilene, TX, David Reed of Dallas, TX, Dean Reed and wife Diane of Merida, Yucatan, brother-in-law, Dick Jackson of Midland, TX; sisters, Lucille Lantern of Lone Oak, TX, Genny Gowens and husband Eddie of Lake Stevens, WA; sister-in-law, Colene Reed of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Oscar and Beulah Ellen (Robinson) Reed; brothers, Freddie Malcom Reed, Richard (Dick) Reed; sister, Thelma Anne (Reed) Jackson; sister-in-law, Lynn Reed.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel.

Arrangements were made under the direction of DeArman-Clark Funeral Home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
