James "Jimmy" Macarthur Gray, 81, of Saint Matthews, SC, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024. He was the husband of Betty Joan Rickenbaker Gray.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, January 12, 2024 at Congaree Baptist Church, with Rev. Nick Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Congaree Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Matthew Graves, David Suttlemyer, Tyler Graves, Ricky Rickenbaker, John Wright, and Lynwood Heckle.

Jimmy was born in Cope, SC, a son of the late Ulysses Simpson Gray and Aileen Antley Gray. He was a former mechanic for John Deere and Guess Farm Equipment before opening his own farm equipment repair business, Green Man Farm Repair. Jimmy was a retired fire chief with Belleville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Congaree Baptist Church and served in the United States Marine Core.

In addition to his wife, Jimmy is survived by his son, David Suttlemyer (Linda); daughter, Terry Davis (Jack); grandchildren, Matthew Graves (Victoria), Tyler Graves (Lauren), Jackie Suttlemyer, and Jessie Simmons (Austin).
