ALBAN PREJET
DATE OF PASSING: DEC 14, 2023

Dad passed away peacefully on December 14th at Foyer Valade at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Jeannine, in 2005.

He will be dearly missed by his three daughters and their families, his special friend and her children. Also mourning his passing are his eight beloved grandchildren and their families, including his three great-grandchildren, along with his many cherished nephews and nieces.

Dad was the son of French immigrants who proudly settled in Notre Dame de Lourdes where Dad was born. He had a happy childhood on the family farm with his six siblings, his lamb, and his dog Spot.

It was in high school that Dad would meet and later marry his sweetheart, Jeannine. During their marriage and the hectic years of raising a young family, Dad was an attentive and loving father while keeping busy with his day job as a skilled electrician with the CNR. Despite those commitments, it was well known that Dad was always ready to lend a helping hand to extended family and friends who needed assistance with electrical and building projects.

In addition to Dad's much-valued refuge at the lake, he enjoyed everything that his shared life with Mom brought him: travelling, curling, golfing, gardening, preparing wonderful meals, and entertaining friends and family. No recipient of Mom and Dad's generosity will soon forget the "joie de vivre" that was so much part of their approach to life and to their guests.

Later, following Mom's passing, Dad continued to enjoy travel and the making of new special memories with his special friend. Her company and affection for Dad brought him great joy, for which he and the entire family are grateful.

Despite the challenges that Dad faced in the last number of months, his life will be remembered by all who knew him as one that was well-lived and greatly enjoyed.

Mass (was) celebrated on Saturday, December 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at St-Eugène Parish, 1009 St. Mary's Rd.
