Keith L. Allen, 84, of Avon, died at 1:30 a.m. today, Sept. 3, 1997 in Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg.

He was born May 18, 1913, in Mount Sterling, lowa, the son of Charles E. and Charlotte E. Muntz Allen.

He married Margaret Bearce. She survives in Avon.

Also surviving are one son, Charles Allen, Champlin, Minn.; one daughter, Charlotte Bowman, Bone Gap, Ill.; one brother, Estin Allen, Roseville; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wayne Allen.

He was a Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 285. He worked for Dohn Transfer, retiring in 1978. He also worked at Avon Nursing Home.

He was a member of Avon United Methodist Church.

A private family prayer service will be held with the Rev. Solomon Jadhav officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial may be made to the children of the Avon United Methodist Church.
