Lulabelle Adair Garrett, 88, formerly of Columbia City and Kimmell, passed away at 8:35 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne.

Born on March 17, 1935, in Huntington, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Mary (Cunningham) Myers. Growing up in Huntington, she completed school at Huntington High School but did not graduate. In 2003, she earned a GED.

Taking a job as a photo processor, she worked at several photo labs in the area moving between Huntington and Fort Wayne. In 1969, she moved Fort Wayne. She married Ralph Adair on July 12, 1986. The couple remained in Fort Wayne until November of 1989, when they moved to Columbia City. Ralph died on August 21, 2002. In 2006, she moved to Knapp Lake near Kimmell.

On June 23, 2007, she married Dean Garrett, Sr. They lived at Knapp Lake until 2013 when the couple moved to Huntington. Dean died on January 17, 2019. For the past few years, Lulabelle has lived with her daughter in Fort Wayne.

She was a member of the St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post 85 in Huntington and VFW #2689 Auxiliary in Huntington

Through the years, she like to sew and participated in bowling. More recently enjoyed crossword and jig saw puzzles.

Surviving is her daughter, Anita (John) Snyder of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, John Myers of Columbia City and Richard (Cinda) Myers of Kentucky; and a half-sister, Paula Phend of Fort Wayne.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by sons James Martin, Jr. and Neil Martin, sister, Helen Worster and half-sister Sharon Raver and half-brother William Myers.
