Obituary

Marlys Chadwell passed away and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, June 21st, 2023.

She was born April 16th 1941 in Almena, Wisconsin to John and Agnes Cotch who were dairy farmers. When Marlys was 11 years old the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico because her younger brother had been diagnosed with Asthma.

She Graduated from Sandia H.S. in Albuquerque in 1959 and later became a formally trained receptionist. Not long after, she met Paul Chadwell who she married on November 18, 1960. Paul and Marlys moved with their two boys, Troy and Kevin, to Eugene Oregon in 1968. In 1974 they moved back to Albuquerque where their daughter Paula was born in 1976.

Marlys worked for most of her life as a homemaker full time, but also held a variety of part time jobs including working at a women's hat store in downtown Albuquerque, as a housekeeper at Kaseman Hospital, and as a clerk at Life Way Book Store.

Marlys enjoyed gardening, baking, and BSF Bible Study classes. She was active in various churches throughout her life teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.

She was preceded in Death by her parents John and Agnes Cotch, her younger brother, Roger, and her Husband Paul to whom she was married for 57 years. She is survived by her oldest son Troy Chadwell and his wife Dawn, their five Children, Rachel Kleeberger and Husband Caleb Kleeberger, Hannah Chadwell and her son Elijah Chadwell, Caleb Chadwell, Faith Chadwell, and Asa Chadwell, Paul and Marlys Middle son, Kevin Chadwell, and their daughter, Paula Chadwell and her husband Bryan Musolino.

Marlys will be interned at Sunset Memorial Garden in Albuquerque. A graveside Memorial will be held on July 15th 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
