He was employed from 1976-1979 by a research department in chemical engineering at a Technology University at Houghton, Michigan. Following that he did research in the Biochemical Technology Department of Gulf Oil in Kansas City, Kansas. He then was a biochemist in a lab for renewable resource engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He also was a fermentation plant manager of Frederick Cancer Research Society in Frederick, Maryland and a senior scientist at a bioprocessing facility at Bio-Process Institute University in Minnesota for 14 years. As of recently he had a business called CEBTech Services where he did consulting and contracting in bio-science.
After retirement he became involved in astrophotography. He was an active member of the Fargo/Moorhead Astronomy Club and wrote several books related to astronomy. His deep desire to study astronomy lead him to building his very own telescope.
