Britton - The funeral for Edward Bremmon will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at St. John de Britto Catholic Church in Britton. Rev. Fr. DeWayne Kayser will officiate. Burial will be in the Britton Cemetery with military rites provided by the Britton American Legion Post #80 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3507. Visitation will be noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19th at the Price Funeral Chapel of Britton, and one hour preceding the funeral at the church on Saturday. Mr. Bremmon died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 84. Edward was born near Hillhead, S.D. on June 6, 1920, to Edwin and Rose (Johnson) Bremmon. He attended rural schools in the Hillhead and Britton areas, and graduated from Britton High School in 1940. After completing his education, he worked at Convair Aircraft of San Diego, Calif. before going into the U.S. Army. He served his country for three years during which time he saw action in the Philippine Islands and Okinawa. He began farming near Britton in 1948. He married Rosalia Wodarz of Veblen in 1949 and remained in the Britton community. He was a member of the Wismer Township Board and the V.F.W. Post #3507 of Britton. He loved people, and always enjoyed visiting. Farming was not only his livelihood, but also his passion. He leaves to mourn his wife, Rosalia Bremmon of Britton; two sons: Craig Bremmon of Aberdeen, S.D. and Peter (Cindy) Bremmon of Britton; and six grandchildren: Kathryn, Douglas, Lydia, Claire, Raymond, and Emily Bremmon. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Clayton, Raymond, Eugene and Orland Bremmon; one sister: Ione Knutson; and one grandchild, Richard Bremmon. Music for the service will be provided by Mary Cusick, organist with Terry Price, soloist. Casketbearers will be members of Britton Post #80 of the American Legion, and V.F.W. Post #3507. Honorary casketbearers will be Virgil Meeker, Don Markeseth, Wendell Lewis, Larry Mette, Howard Rice, Gordon Braaten, Bill Pitkin, Leslie Jensen and Bruce Guy.
