He was born December 9, 1942 in Surry County to the late James Edgar and Alice Ashburn Casstevens.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Walker and Bertha Barber; and a brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Margaret Casstevens.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Love Casstevens; children, Lainie Casstevens, Dwayne (Gracie) Casstevens, Wiley (Crystal) Casstevens, Joseph (Angel) Casstevens, Daniel (Ladonna) Casstevens, John (Jenny) Casstevens, Melissa C. (Kevin) Loggins; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mae Dixon and Audrey Mayes; brothers, Aubrey Casstevens, Ed Casstevens, Ralph Casstevens, Gene Casstevens and Dwight Casstevens; and his special canine friend, Sammy.
His funeral service will be held at Calvary Full Gospel Church.
Interment will follow in Beulahland Church Cemetery in Jonesville
