Bruce O. Steck, 85, of 1245 Summit Rd., Rew, passed away, Sunday September 15, 2013 at the Bradford Manor, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Degolia, on January 30, 1928, he was a son of the late Leonard and Louise (O'Neil) Steck. He was a 1945 graduate of Bradford High School. He enlisted in the United States Marines on November 5, 1945 and was honorably discharged in November 4, 1948. He reenlisted United States Air Force on February 27, 1951 and retired on May 31, 1968. He then went to work for the United States Post Office in Olean NY from 1969 and retired in 1989. He was a member of the Italian Club, the Eagles Club, and the VFW. On March 12, 1955 he married Joyce M. (Heitzinger) Steck who preceded him in death. He was formerly married to Bonnie (Grassi) Steck who survives. Surviving is one daughter, Pam Steck, of Bradford, one son, Bruce L. (Trudy) Steck of Rew, and one step-daughter Cindy Remmington of Port Allegany, two sisters, Ellen Keller of Bradford, and Shirley McManigle of Bradford, three brothers, Richard Steck of Lewis Run, Wayne Steck, of Lewis Run and Dean Steck of Timbuck, one granddaughter Faith (Andy) Keesler, and one step granddaughter Stephanie Martuccio, 2 great grandchildren Makayla Keesler and Logan Keesler. He was preceded in death by his parents, one step-son Dan Remmington, 2 brothers Tom Steck and Rodney "Herk" Steck, 5 sisters Alice Bizzaro, Marian Steinhauser, Mary Lou Gould, Norma Steck, and Donna Roeder. Family will be receiving friends Wednesday September 18, 2013 from 7-9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. and again from 10:00am to 11:00am at which time funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday with Rev. Robert Gorton Pastor of the Peoples Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Committal services and Military Honors will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
