Mrs. Lena BEARD, lifelong resident of Arenzville, died late Tuesday night at her home. She was the wife of the late Lee BEARD of Arenzville.
Mrs. BEARD was born near Arenzville July 21, 1872, the daughter of John and Elizabeth RAHN KIRCHER. She was the last of a family of 12 children, five brothers and six sisters preceding her in death. On Oct. 22, 1895 she was united in marriage with Mr. BEARD and he preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1953.
She is survived by nine children, Russell of Golden; Mrs. Mildred KOLBERER, Mrs. Mae BEETS, Mrs. Lucille SCHNITKER, Mrs. Harold KRUSE, Raymond BEARD, Robert L. BEARD, and Roland BEARD all of Arenzville and John BEARD of Jacksonville. There are 30 grandchildren and 14 great, grandchildren. One daughter, Helen Marguerite, preceded her mother in death in 1920.
The body will be taken from the Williamson funeral home at 4 p.m. Wednesday to the residence in Arenzville where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday with Rev. C. Frank JANSSEN, pastor of the Northminster Presbyterian church in Jacksonville, officiating. Burial will be made in the Arenzville cemetery.
