Larry was born in New York City on April 2, 1921. He was the son of Martin and Rena Feldman and was one of six children. After serving in the Army Air Corps in India during World War II, he was discharged and returned to the United States where he married Bertha Omega Bodenheimer in Shreveport on January 2, 1946. He was a traveling salesman for twenty-five years, then he and Bertha got "off the road" and opened and operated Young World for ten years before their retirement.
