Reuben Andrew Decker passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023. He was born at home on the family farm in Hitchcock, South Dakota on February 14, 1925. Forever known as a Valentine's Day baby. His parents were John M. Decker and Katie Pullman Decker.

He was one of 16 children born to John M. Decker and grew up on the farm with many brothers and sisters. In 1944 he was drafted into WWII (Army). After he was honorably discharged, he worked various jobs taking him from South Dakota to California and then to Washington. He married Betty Lofgren in 1960 and they raised their children Sheila and Daniel in Kirkland, WA.

He worked 25 years for Western Pneumatic Tube Company in Kirkland and retired in 1988. Reuben's greatest pastime was gardening. He loved to work in his yard and would grow vegetables and flowers throughout the spring and summer. He enjoyed showing family and friends through his garden and giving away zucchini, lettuce, kale and raspberries to all.

Reuben was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was known for his quiet demeanor with a sharp wit and developed quite the sense of humor as he got older.

He was baptized in 2017 at Rose Hill Church in Kirkland. He is now home and at peace with his savior Jesus Christ and his large family.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings Albert Decker and Gladys Wedel. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty. He is survived by his children Daniel (Jona) Decker of Kirkland, WA, Sheila (Jack) Winter of Woodinville WA and John Decker of Arizona. His grandchildren Keegan Decker, Mitchell Decker, Maxwell (Ally) Winter, Spencer (Kathryn) Winter and Jeff (Xiuzhen) Decker. His great granddaughters Amelia Winter, Lannah Decker and Addison Decker. His stepchildren Steve (Heidi) Banks and family, Linda Ross and family and Russ Banks and family.

A memorial service for Reuben will be held on December 18th at 2pm at Sunset Hills memorial park.
