John M. Decker, 92, died Friday afternoon at the Huron Nursing Home.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Huron Mission Church. Burial will be in Ideal Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Harold, Wesley and Rick Decker, Leland Hofer, Joel Wedel and Rodney Wipf.
Friends may call at the Aaseth Funeral Home Sunday afternoon or evening. The casket will be open prior to the service, but not following.
Decker was born June 2, 1877, in South Russia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Decker. He came to the United States at the age of two. In the early 1900's the family moved to Spink County where he farmed until 1943 when he retired and moved to Huron.
Survivors include eight sons, John and Albert, Huron; Sam, Frankfort; Jake, Hitchcock; Dave, Reedley, Calif.; Harry and Rueben, Seattle; and Joe, Minneapolis; six daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Glanzer, Mrs. Ernest (Ann) Wipf, Mrs. Toby (Gladys) Wedel, Mrs. Wayne (Alberta) Walter, all of Huron; Mrs. John (Adena) Hofer, Yale; Mrs. George (Sally) Waldner, Coon Rapids, Minn.; 57 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.
