Another Old Familiar Face Removed - On Sunday last at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Mr. Titus Sheard, of Wilmot, passed to his rest, aged 82 years, 8 months and 26 days. Probably amongst all the old residents of this ?, there was none so ? widely known or universally respected than the gentleman of whom we write. He came to Canada in 1841, from his native place, Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England, and after a residence of three years in the township of Puslinch, removed on to the farm where he died. He lost his wife about twenty years ago, and at different dates, three of his children preceded him to the grave, viz.: - Edward, aged 25, Alfred, aged 16, and a very young daughter. Of the other members of his family Mr. Arthur Sheard still lives on the farm, Mrs. Copeland in West Williams, Mrs. Conrad Berneth in the Township of Grey, Mrs. Wm. Townsend in Goderich, Mrs. Wm. Cochrane, of Roseville, and Mrs. Sararas, of Wilmot. Mr. Sheard was a very useful man in his day, and so far as his connection with any public matter was concerned, always gave his best exertions to carry it to a successful issue. We believe we are safe in saying that for the last fifteen, if not more years, he held the position of Director for Wilmot of the South Riding Agricultural Society, and so much were his services respected that he was annually elected by the members by acclamation.

The funeral took place on Wednesday to the family cemetery on the deceased's property, the large attendance of friends and acquaintances testifying to the respect in which Mr. Sheard had been held.
