Arvil Bryant, 74, of Litchfield, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Virgie, Kentucky to Mrytle Bryant and Ed P Belcher. He grew up and went to school in Dorton, Kentucky. Arvil moved to Michigan when he was 15 years old. He worked at American Colloid in Albion, Midwest Foundry in Coldwater until it closed its doors, then to Trojan Heat Treat in Homer until his retirement.
Arvil is survived by his wife, Vickie, of 52 years; two children, Arvil Wesley Bryant of Litchfield, Michele (Chad) Houghtby of Hillsdale; two grandchildren, Arvil Wesley Bryant Jr., Edgar (Kavina Johnson) Barnes II; four great-grandchildren, Clarissa, Izabella, Izaiah and Wesley Bryant; one sister, Lea (Virdell) Elkins of Coldwater; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Arvil enjoyed spending time with his family the most, especially if it involved fishing and anything with sports. He was a huge University of Kentucky Fan. He loved to cook cornbread and fritters. His faith in God was deep and he enjoyed traveling around to all the Old Regular Baptist Churches, until he could no longer make the drive. Little Marie Old Regular Baptist in Litchfield was his must go to monthly service. Him and his brother, Floyd were in regular attendance until his passing.
Arvil was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George (Kenlinn) Trivette, Floyd Edward Belcher; two sisters, Oda (George) Caudill, Bertha (John) Elkins and his grandparents.
Funeral services for Arvil Bryant will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Little Marie Old Regular Baptist Church at 11 AM with Estill Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Mosherville Cemetery.
