Margaret Davis was born on March 20, 1824, in Butler County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Sumerodley? Davis, who both were from Ireland.

Margaret Davis married David Hall at an unknown date. He was born about 1820 in Pennsylvania.

They had the following children, according to the 1850 – 1880 Federal censuses, while living in Campbell, Jennings County, Indiana (1850; 1860); Redding Township, Jackson County, Indiana (1870; 1880): Mary Hall, born about 1844 in Indiana; Martha Hall, born about 1847 in Indiana; Elizabeth J. Hall, born about 1844? In Indiana; Rebecca K Hall, born about 1847 in Indiana; Margaret A. Hall, born about 1851 in Indiana; Thomas D. Hall, born about 1855 in Indiana; John E. or C. Hall, born about 1858 in Indiana; Eugenia C. Hall, born about 1860 in Indiana; Robert H. Hall, born about 1863 in Indiana; and Caroline Hall, born about 1861 in Indiana (possibly listed as Eugenia C. Hall?).

Sometime between 1880 – 1900, Margaret Hall was widowed. In the 1900 Federal census, she was living with her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Nellie Hall (ages 37 and 26 respectively) in Jackson township, Jackson County, Indiana.

The Indiana WPA Death Index listed Margaret Hall died on July 20, 1908, in Redding township, which was confirmed by the death certificate.

HALL – Mrs. Margaret Hall, the mother of Robert H. Hall, of this city,, died at her home near Ackeret's church at 7 o'clock Monday evening. She had been sick since last Wednesday. Her age was 84 years and 4 months and was born in Butler county, Pennsylvania. After her marriage to David Hall they moved to Jennings county, near Butlersville, where he engaged in farming. In September 1862 they moved to his county near the Ackeret church and the family home has been there ever since. To them were born nine children, five of whom are dead. The children living are Mrs. Elizabeth J. Emly with whom Mrs. Hall made her house in recent years; Mrs. Rebecca J. Spurling, of Azalia; Thos D. of Indianapolis; and Robert H. of Seymour. The names of the deceased children were: Anna, John C., Sollie, Eugenia and Richard C. Mrs. Hall was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends and neighbors. She was a devout member of the Methodist church from the time she was ten years of age. The funeral will be at 2 p.m Wednesday from the Ackeret church conducted by the Rev. A. E. Peirce. Burial in the Ackeret cemetery.

Note: David Hall very likely died between 1880 - 1900. He is listed in the 1880 Federal census, but Margaret Hall was listed as a widow in the 1900 Federal census, and living with her son Robert Hall. He is probably buried in Ackeretts Chapel Cemetery as well, but more research is needed.

Miss Carrie Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Hall, a respectable young lady, died September 24, 1881, of consumption, aged 21 years, 2 months and 20 days. Funeral Sunday following, by Rev. Gruber.
