Mrs. Effie Bixler Sterner, 54, wife of Curvin G. Sterner, Hanover R.D. 3, died at 3:45 o'clock this morning at the Hanover General Hospital where she was a patient since Tuesday. Mrs. Sterner, who was a daughter of the late Edward and Ella Houck Bixler, was an attendant at the Hanover market house for a number of years. She was a member of the Otterbein U.B. Church. Survivors besides her husband are four children, Burnell Sterner, Mrs. Edward Miller and Mrs. Raymond Dayhoff, all of Hanover R.D. 3, and Mrs. Melvin Heltebridle, Baltimore Street; nine grandchildren and six brothers and sisters, Curby, Paul, Clinton, Wilson and Erma Bixler, all of Hanover R.D. 2; Park Bixler, New Freedom, and Edward Bixler, Hanover R.D. 3. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Otterbein U.B. Church, Ruth Avenue and Walnut Street. The pastor, the Rev. Paul R. Wineka, and the Rev. Ralph Rudisill, pastor of the Hanover Gospel Tabernacle, will officiate. Burial will be in the York Road Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dennis Wetzel Funeral Home, Carlisle Street, Monday evening and at the church Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
